5 New Skydivers!

Saturday , April 2nd 2006

John Philips, with his experience and professionalism, took our 5 newest members through the static line program. Some in the class had made tandems in the past and for some it was there first time to have a taste of the thrill we call skydiving.

JP briefs students after watching another skydiver land. Sam and Pranay are distributed gear. Students Doug, Sam & Pranay suit up. JP briefs students on winds and landing direction.
Sam & Pranay exude confidence as Instructor Bobby Phillips gears up. The first group (from left Doug, Brad & Rosario) follow JP to the plane known as "Delta". No turning back now. Rosario is in student position ready to make a skydive. Sam is placed in the student position by Bobby. This group is ready to go in our plane "Bravo".
Rosario flies her canopy in to landing. She was the first student to exit. Doug was the second to leave and landed the closest of the 5. Way to go Doug! Brad was the third in the "Green Machine". Sam (4th) flies his canopy towards the DZ.
Pranay (5th) Jumps. His pilot shoot deploying his main. Sam and Pranay call for a taxi. Both landed safely on the airport but as a courtesy our Chief Pilot Clem Scott offered a lift. Brad Celebrates after 2 good jumps. (Upper left) Rosario celebrates as well after 2 good jumps.

The class started early Saturday morning with less than promising skies but by the time the training had finished all were able to jump. A few were able to make their second static line jump before the day wound down and the celebrations began. We at OSA are very proud of these students and look forward to them coming back out and continuing their training.

Static line courses generally begin promptly @ 8:00 am on Saturdays. Please call 334-745-5529 to confirm or email dzo@skydiveopelika.net.
